Much as I'm not a great fan of no-called 'misery lit', this autobiography is both interesting and useful for clinicians. Focusing on an abusive childhood, the novel examines how childhood psychosis, disociation and behavioural problems associated with abuse can be both induced and manipulated by main carers. Serves as a stark warning to all clinicians working within the CAMHS sector.
